First are basic medications like prescription strength versions of drugs like Motrin (called “NSAIDS” – non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Muscle relaxants can help, as can mild narcotic pain medications. Narcotic pain medication must be used with extreme caution and should be used only temporarily when other methods do not work.
