Nighttime Spine Care – Reverse the order of Daytime. These are general guidelines only and apply mainly to those with medical spinal problems.

Care for your spine
- Stretching – At night, before resting, start with two minutes of stretching your arms, back, legs, and feet before moving out of bed. As you set on the side of the bed, get in the habit of slowly rolling your head gently toward your chest, slowly to the side, around the back, to the other side and then back to the front.
- Posture – Place a pillow under your knees if you sleep on your back. If you are a side sleeper, place a pillow between your knees.
- Sitting – If you watch TV before retiring to bed, place a small pillow or a small towel, rolled up tightly, behind your back to support it.
- Walking – If you want to walk before retiring, take it slow. You don’t want to get too energized before your body gets ready to rest for the night. Get a good night’s sleep because that is the time when your body tends to repair itself.
