Neurological Surgeon A native of St. Petersburg, Dr. McKalip received his B.S. cum laude and his M.D. from the University of South Florida. He served as assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He then served as the co-director of Neurotrauma at San Francisco General Hospital where he was actively involved in clinical neurotrauma research. Dr. McKalip returned to the community in 2000 to open his own practice.
